A FEW GOOD SPOONS is a fantasy adventure aimed squarely at a family audience, but with enough sophisticated wit to keep the grown-ups happy. The best-animated films invite the audience into a world that they have never seen before - and could not possibly see outside of the medium of animation. We want to bring a familiar world to life in a completely unfamiliar way – what really happens in the kitchen after dark, when the humans leave? What would it be like if all the kitchen appliances came alive - and if the resident kitchenware battled for supremacy for the very highest honour - to take their rightful place in the world of food service? To our characters, being used by the humans is not an inconvenience - it is their whole reason for being.

Our hero is thrust into a world of battling cutlery, the aristocratic RICHMONDS fighting it out with the budget stainless steel STRATFORDS. Who will win? We have the chance for a thrilling kinetic climax, a wacky finale in which only one side can come out on top. For the rest... their fate is the foundry - a dark fearful place from which cutlery never seems to return.

JONNY - Stratford Spoon

JONNY is fresh out the wrapper and the sole survivor of a freak vacuum cleaner attack that ended the rest of his set. Jonny is a stainless steel, dishwasher safe, Stratford tablespoon. He’s strong, hygienic, durable enough for everyday use, and housed in the cutlery drawer. JONNY is innocent, awkward, kind, brave, excitable, and not too sharp. He has the old school charm and flair of FRED ASTAIRE with the expressiveness of Disney’s Aladdin.

MIA - Richmond Fork

MIA, or rather Princess Mia, is next in line to the throne. Her mother is allegedly dead but with no body, there is no evidence so her evil nanny, the Baroness, is caretaker of the throne. Mia is a Richmond dinner fork with all the charm of Audrey Hepburn - hand crafted from the finest material and reserved for special occasions.

BARTON - Richmond Fish Knife

BARTON is a spoilt mummy’s boy with a Napoleon Complex with ambitions to be loved.

QUEEN - Richmond Serving Fork

QUEEN is a Richmond Serving Fork and Mia’s dead mother. She is the former matriarch of the kitchen and revered for keeping the peace .

RUFUS - Swiss Army Knife?

RUFUS is a Swiss Army Knife and thus neutral on all matters… or is he? Spoiler alert, he’s allegedly a cheap knock-off from the Grand Bazaar that passes as Swiss to influence the kitchen.

GRATER - Richmond Muscle?

GRATER is neither Richmond nor Stratford, but a wild beast with the charm of Noel Coward. He's also Barton's muscle.

SIGNOR MOUNTANTO - Wooden Spoon

SIGNOR MOUNTANTO, WOODEN SPOON, WOODY, WOODY WOODPECKER - he has many names, his set is sacred, born out of the deepest love, they are the chosen ones that will save the mortal masters from the clutches of the finger food.
